FORATOM launches online electricity generation tool

Feb 24, 2020

Brussels, 24 February 2020: FORATOM has today launched an online tool which enables users to find out more about the different sources of electricity generated across Europe. Furthermore, it provides daily data on what nuclear contributes in terms of electricity generation as a whole and low-carbon electricity in particular.

The tool is divided into three sections. The first provides daily information on the different sources of low-carbon electricity produced in Europe. The second focuses on all sources of electricity generation. The final tab gives details on the different sources of electricity produced in each Member State.

With this tool, we aim to show the significant role which nuclear plays in terms of providing Europe with the low-carbon electricity it needs”, states FORATOM Director General Yves Desbazeille.

The data presented comes from ENTSO-E and reflects the different sources of electricity generated on the previous day. For Ukraine and Switzerland, the data comes from the previous year.
